Automotive side indicator lights and lamps, also known as side marker lights or fender marker lights, serve to enhance the visibility of a vehicle’s sides to other drivers. They are typically found on the front fenders or rear quarter panels.  A side indicator light is a small light located on the side of a vehicle, typically near the front or rear wheel well. It is used to indicate the direction in which the vehicle intends to turn or change lanes. When the driver activates the turn signal, the side indicator light on that side of the vehicle flashes, alerting other drivers of the intended makeover. Side indicator lights are an important safety feature, especially when driving in traffic or changing lanes on the highway. The side indicator lights on a trucks and buses are typically located on the sides near the front and rear of the vehicle. These lights are used to indicate the direction in which the truck is turning. When the driver activates the turn signal, the side indicator lights on the corresponding side of the truck will flash to indicate the intended direction of the turn.

HERE ARE SOME COMMON TYPES OF AUTOMOTIVE SIDE INDICATOR LIGHTS:

Bulb Type: Traditional side indicator lights use bulbs, often incandescent or halogen, to emit light. They are simple and easy to replace.

LED Type: Many modern vehicles use Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) for side indicator lights. LEDs are energy-efficient, durable, and provide a brighter light output than traditional bulbs.

Clear Lens: Clear lens side indicator lights are common, especially on older vehicles. They emit a white or amber light when activated.

Colored Lens: Some vehicles have side indicator lights with colored lenses, such as amber or red. These lenses can enhance the visibility of the light.

Integrated into Side Mirrors: In some vehicles, the side indicator lights are integrated into the side mirrors for better visibility.

Dynamic/Turn Signal Indicator: Some modern vehicles have dynamic side indicator lights that light up sequentially or in a pattern when activated, providing a stylish and attention-grabbing effect.

Size and Shape: Side indicator lights come in various shapes and sizes, depending on the vehicle’s design and styling requirements.
